Congressman Rudy Yakym recently released a statement on co-sponsoring the Protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Act.

Congressman Michael Cloud’s bill would block the federal government from exploiting public health emergencies as a backdoor for unconstitutional gun control measures.

The Protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Act’s goal is to keep Second Amendment rights protected during declared emergencies and to prevent the government from using them to infringe on law-abiding citizens’ rights.

Yakym says he commends Cloud for taking the lead to prevent any future administration from using emergency power as a loophole for unconstitutional gun control, as was seen during the COVID pandemic.
