A Niles woman has been sentenced to prison for abusing her children.

Angeleah Rose Jackson, 34, pleaded no contest to two counts of third-degree child abuse and was sentenced to two concurrent prison terms of 17-months to 2-years.

Leader Publications reports the abuse took place in early January.

The Berrien County Assistant Prosecutor stated Jackson is also involved in an abuse and neglect case in family court. One of the children is receiving counseling after being beaten, dragged by her hair, and having a tray thrown at her.
