Concert promoter Peter Kernan III passes away

A man who helped put on some big concerts in Michiana over the years has died.

The family of concert promoter Peter Kernan says he passed away on Saturday at the age of 72.

Kernan was a Notre Dame Graduate who started promoting rock and roll concerts while still a high school student in Detroit. His concert company, Pacific Coast Concerts, was founded in Malibu and he traveled the world promoting shows, published an entertainment newspaper, and also owned the River City Records chain of record stores over the years.

His visitation and funeral are planned for Thursday afternoon.
