A contractor has been selected for the I 80-94 FlexRoad project at the Illinois-Indiana border.

Superior Construction Co., Inc. has been selected to implement the Transportation Systems Management and Operations to maximize the safety and efficiency of the 14-mile stretch of interstate known as the Borman Expressway in Lake County, IN and Cook County, IL.

The project will implement Active Traffic Management and Intelligent Transportation System solutions, including variable speed limits, dynamic lane control, dynamic shoulder lanes, and more.

Preliminary work begins in April, with construction expected to begin the summer.
