A Niles Community Schools teacher has been placed on leave after a video surfaced online showing the teacher allegedly trying to engage in inappropriate behavior with a minor.
The Niles superintendent issued a statement to parents, this week, saying the teacher was placed on administrative leave while the district conducts an internal investigation.
The video appears to show the teacher meeting someone he believed was a teen, based on online messages. Instead, he was confronted by adults from a group known for conducting sting operations.
The teacher then left the scene.
Leader Publications reports the statement from the superintendent says they have contacted local police to ensure that the appropriate authorities are involved.
