Changes are coming to Mega Millions beginning this weekend.
Starting April 5, the price for a Mega Millions ticket is going up to $5 per play.
This is only the second price increase for the multi-state game.
The starting jackpots will be bigger, jumping from $20 million to $50 million.
Mega Millions estimates the average jackpot will also increase from the current $450 million to $800 million.
Executive Director of the Hoosier Lottery, Sara Taylor says, “There’s more good news, the odds of winning will improve slightly to 1 in 290 million from 1 in 302 million and the game will also have a built-in multiplier!”
Every non-jackpot win will multiply its base prize by 2x, 3x, 4x, or 10x!
The first drawing for the new Mega Millions game is Tuesday, April 8th at 10:50pm ET.
