The Michigan DNR has teamed up with the Food Bank Council for the Hunters Feeding Michigan program.

WSJM says those who have hunted deer can donate them to be turned into ground venison and distributed across Michigan.

The program is able to distribute donated meat to a potential 2,800 food pantries in the state. One deer equals about 160 servings, with each deer having the potential to make a huge difference for those in need of assistance from pantries.
