I.U. Health says it has started a Mobile Lung Screening Unit to provide free screenings for Hoosiers statewide, including firefighters.
The unit, equipped with a CT scanner, aims to detect lung cancer early, a disease that is the leading cause of cancer deaths in Indiana and the U.S.
The initiative is part of efforts to increase screening rates among high-risk individuals and promote early detection, which can significantly impact survival rates.
