Mishawaka Parks and Recreation is set to break ground on Miracle Field.

Tuesday was National Baseball Day, and the Parks & Recreation Foundation is celebrating reaching its newest milestone.

The Miracle Field at Normain Heights Park Campaign Committee reached its Phase 1 fundraising goal, raising over $1.6 million to build the first Miracle Field in the state.

The space will allow those with disabilities to safely play baseball and other sports. Now, the committee is working toward raising another $1.8 million for a fully-inclusive playground and splash pad, covered pavilions, a walking trail, basketball courts and other park enhancements.

The city plans to break ground on Miracle Field in July.

Plainfield Optimist dedicated a miracle field at least 5 years ago, way before Mishawaka finally decided to put one in . Please do your homework before printing false information.
