An Elkhart teen charged with attempted murder had his jury trial continued last week.

16-year-old Antwoine Thomas Jr. had a bond hearing on Thursday for a Washington Gardens shooting that happened last May.

Police responded to the call but had found that the victim already went to the emergency room and required brain surgery. Police were able to tie Thomas to the case using video, messages and confirmation from an Elkhart school resource officer.

The Goshen News says Thomas’ trial has been moved from June 16 to August 4 with a status conference set for July 2.
