Ivy Tech Community College’s new president has been selected.

Martin Pollio, a superintendent at Jefferson County Public Schools in Kentucky, was selected as the new leader.

He’ll serve as the 10th president of the institution, following the retirement of Sue Ellspermann who spent nearly a decade in the position.

A search process with a committee chose Pollio, stating that he rose to the top for his passion for students and experience creating results around workforce readiness and academic excellence.

Northwest Indiana Business says Pollio will begin his new role on July 1.
