Crash at County Roads 19 and 36 leaves three with minor injuries

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Roads 19 and 36 left three people with minor injuries, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision occurred around 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, when a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze, traveling west on County Road 36, failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by a northbound 2021 Ford Explorer on County Road 19. The intersection is marked with stop signs for east and westbound traffic, while north and southbound traffic does not stop.

The impact occurred on the rear driver’s side of the Cruze. The driver, a 19-year-old woman from Goshen, was uninjured. Her passenger, also 19 and from Goshen, reported wrist pain.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 29-year-old Goshen woman, complained of arm pain, while her 4-year-old passenger reported neck pain.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
