A man accused of possession of a machine gun appeared in court last week.

A search warrant was executed at Aaron Olson’s Oakridge Avenue home, finding a machine gun “switch” in a safe.

Olson allegedly argued that the switch was not attached to a weapon, though the officer informed him that a switch not attached to a gun is also a machine gun.

The Goshen News says marijuana and paraphernalia were also found in the home, though Olson told officers that he does not smoke.

He’s charged with possession of a machine gun, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. His trial is set for September 8.

“the switch was not attached to a weapon, though the officer informed him that a switch not attached to a gun is also a machine gun. ”

This is a great example of how screwed up our gun laws are.

If I have a hood ornament from a Porsche in my garage, can I claim to own a Porsche? Of course not, because everyone knows that’s a lie. Now apply that logic to this gun charge…
