IU South Bend camp introduces high schoolers to healthcare careers

A weeklong summer camp at IU South Bend is giving high school students from South Bend Washington a behind-the-scenes look at healthcare.
It’s called the Summer Healthcare Exploration Program, and it’s designed to highlight careers most people don’t think about-jobs beyond doctors and nurses.
The students live on campus and rotate through hands-on stations that include lab testing, medical imaging, and patient intake.
Organizers say the goal is to show just how many different roles make up the healthcare system.
