A 20-year-old man from Niles drowned after jumping off a bridge in New Buffalo.

Officers responded to a water rescue call around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, after Tucker Vaughn jumped from the North Whittaker Street bridge over the Galien River.

Witnesses saw Vaughn jump, then disappear under the water. First responders conducted a search and recovered his body from the water.
