A Dowagiac man is facing jail time after allegedly stealing from Tractor Supply.

It happened in January when Nathaniel Warner attempted to steal a gun, ammunition and other items and was stopped by a store employee, who was injured and lost his job due to the company’s liability concerns in the incident.

Leader Publications says Warner’s attorney says he has had ongoing drug issues since he was 16 years old and knows he needs help to turn his life around.

He pleaded guilty to larceny from a person and was sentenced to two years probation, 300 days in jail and over $1,500 in fines and costs.
