More than 70 people showed up at Warsaw City Hall to talk with Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith and ask questions about the new tax bill.
This meeting happened just after President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” passed in the Senate.
A lot of folks wanted to know how the tax cuts would affect them personally.
Beckwith said it’s too soon to say exactly how it will play out until the bill is signed, but he and Governor Mike Braun believe it will help a lot.
“I think it’s good for the country. It locks in tax cuts for the middle class and should bring businesses back home. President Trump is doing a solid job leading us,” Beckwith said.
Another big concern was the possible cuts to Medicaid and how that could impact people’s access to important services. Many people at the meeting were worried about losing the help they depend on.
