Police identify man shot, killed by deputy in Niles Township

The name of the man killed in the officer-involved shooting on South Third Street in Niles Township, Monday, has been released.
Joshua Coffey, 48, was shot and killed after investigators say he fired a gun at a Berrien County Sheriff’s Deputy who approached his vehicle he was in.
Coffey was a passenger in the vehicle took off on foot as the officer approached, then fired his gun.
Michigan State Police still investigating the incident.
The deputy involved remains on administrative leave.
