A 72-year-old man from Portage is facing attempted murder and aggravated battery charges after police say he shot another man several times in LaPorte County.

It happened just south of Westville on County Road 1150 West on Tuesday evening, July 22.

When officers got there, they arrested Timothy Pochron, who was identified as the shooter. The 63-year-old man who was shot was first taken to a local hospital, then flown to a trauma center.

His condition hasn’t been shared.
