The South Bend Police Department is investigating an early morning homicide on the city’s northwest side.

On Saturday, July 26, around 3 a.m., South Bend Police responded to the report of shots fired in the 3900 block of Sheridan Plaza.

Upon arrival, officers found Donovan Russell, 25, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating this case.
