August 5th is Primary Day in Michigan, with scattered local elections, school bonds, and more on the ballots around the state.

The biggest contest in the state is in Detroit, with the primaries for the mayoral race, but across the state, schools are requesting a combined 435 million dollars in bond proposals, according to Bridge Michigan.

Benton Harbor has five candidates for a seat on the City Commission that will be pared down to two.
