A LaPorte man was shot early following an argument at Matey’s Bar.

Police were called to the bar around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3, after reports of gunfire and fights inside and outside the building. Officers found the 25-year-old victim across the street in a parking lot entrance with a gunshot wound.

Officers provided medical aid until EMS transported Sellers to Franciscan Hospital. He was later transferred to the University of Chicago Hospital for further treatment.

Investigators say the victim was leaving the bar after an argument when he was shot while walking to his car. No arrests have been made.
