Indiana’s Miami Correctional Facility to become “Speedway Slammer” for ICE detention

Indiana’s Miami Correctional Facility is set to transform into the “Speedway Slammer,” a new facility aimed at expanding ICE detention capacity by 1,000 beds.

Similar to “Alligator Alcatraz” in Florida, it will house what the Department of Homeland Security calls some of the “worst of the worst” criminal aliens.

Governor Braun expressed pride in Indiana’s collaboration with President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristie Noem in combating illegal immigration.

Braun said the initiative marks a significant step in the state’s efforts to strengthen border security and uphold immigration laws.
