Mystery donor replaces stolen benches at Paddy Shack in Granger

A recent theft at Paddy Shack Ice Cream in Granger left the owners saddened after white benches were stolen from the shop’s outdoor seating area, known as the Paddy’O.

But this week, the story took a heartwarming turn. Late Wednesday night, Aug. 6, two brand-new benches—beautifully painted with the shop’s logo and ice cream-themed quotes—appeared outside the store. The gift was delivered anonymously.

“To whoever did this, thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” the owners wrote in a social media post. “Your kindness reminded us that there is so much more good in the world than bad.”

The couple says the benches will provide a welcoming place for families and friends to enjoy a scoop or two. While they don’t know who left the surprise, they hope to meet the donor someday.

The shop is asking the community to share the good news just as widely as the original post about the theft.
