Man seriously injured in shooting outside South Bend bar

Police are investigating a shooting that left a man seriously injured outside a bar on South Bend’s northwest side.

Officers were patrolling the 1500 block of Portage Avenue just before 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, when they heard gunfire near My Place Bar & Grill.

Responding officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The department’s Violent Crimes Unit is handling the investigation.
