Indiana ranks 8th for importance of religion

A new report says Indiana ranks 8th for considering religion important.

SmileHub says 44 percent of adults in the country say they pray every day.

To figure out where religion is most important, they compared each of the 50 states based on 13 key metrics. Indiana ranked 12th for the amount of adults who consider religion very important in their lives, and 20th for the share of people who pray at least daily.

The Hoosier state ranked 16th for the amount of faith and religion support charities per capita as well as for religion studies degrees awarded per capita.

They came in 8th for religion establishments per capita and in 8th overall.
