Two arrested for OWI after crash in LaPorte County

LaPorte County deputies arrested two men on operating while intoxicated charges following a crash late Sunday night near County Roads 1000 South and 125 East.
Deputy Balenia was dispatched to the area after reports of a vehicle crash in a field. When he arrived, he observed a Dodge pickup traveling west on CR 1000 South before turning onto a dirt lane that led to the reported crash site.
At the scene, deputies found a Jeep Wrangler lying on its driver’s side with the roof completely detached, along with the same Dodge pickup spotted earlier.
The drivers of both vehicles were determined to be impaired.
Shawn O’Brien, the Jeep’s driver, was arrested on preliminary charges of OWI with a passenger under 18 and OWI Endangerment.
Broc Jurkowski, the pickup driver, was arrested on preliminary charges of OWI and OWI Endangerment.
