Police in Michigan City are still investigating a shooting that left a man dead.
The LaPorte County E-911 Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call around 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 3, reporting that a man had been shot at a home in the 1300 block of Franklin Street. Officers from the Michigan City Police Department, along with the Michigan City Fire Department and LaPorte County EMS, responded to the scene.
When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Jacob Addison of Michigan City inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders began life-saving measures before Addison was taken to Franciscan Hospital by EMS. He was later transferred to South Bend Memorial Hospital for advanced care.
The died on Thursday afternoon.
The Michigan City Police Department’s Investigative Division was called to the scene and is leading the investigation. Detectives are collecting evidence and conducting interviews. No arrests have been made.
