EPA reaches settlement with contractor over lead paint violations in South Bend

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reached a settlement with a South Bend company over lead paint violations.
Homeworks Construction has agreed to a $10,000 settlement to resolve alleged violations of federal lead-based paint regulations.
The E.P.A. claims the company failed to follow safety rules in 17 properties built before 1978, putting people at risk.
