Dowagiac man hospitalized after Friday morning crash

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that sent a Dowagiac man to the hospital early Friday morning.
Deputies were called to the 70400 block of Calvin Center Road in Mason Township around 3:31 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2025.
Investigators say the 67-year-old man was driving south on Calvin Center Road when his vehicle struck a cow that was in the roadway. The man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was unable to get out on his own.
Deputies helped him from the vehicle, and he was taken by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital in Indiana for treatment of his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
