Three St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office K9s will soon be outfitted with new protective vests, thanks to a donation from American Legion Post 284.
Sheriff’s officials announced the gift this week, noting the Legion’s contribution of more than $4,000 will cover the cost of equipment for K9s Bullet, Rowdy, and Roxy.
“These dogs are a valued part of our department, and this generous gift is an incredible step in ensuring their safety,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The donation underscores the ongoing partnership between local organizations and law enforcement, aimed at keeping both officers and their four-legged partners safe while serving the community.
