The Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership is inviting the public to a free educational event next week.

“Get Up to Speed: Marijuana Myth Busting with Kevin Sabet” is set for October 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart.

Sabet, a Fort Wayne native and nationally recognized expert on marijuana policy, has advised three U.S. presidential administrations and leads Smart Approaches to Marijuana.

His talk will explore the science of high-potency THC, youth mental health, shifting marijuana laws and the economic and social impact of legalization.

Organizers say the event will help residents separate fact from myth and make more informed choices on future marijuana policies.
