South Bend Fire Department responds to three fires

The South Bend Fire Department responded to three separate fires between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning:
Sunday, just after 4:00 p.m.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 1500 block of Rockne Drive for a fully involved garage fire. The garage was a total loss, but crews prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby home.
Monday, just before 1:30 a.m.
Crews responded to the 200 block of South Twyckenham Drive for a fully involved house fire. One resident was able to exit the home before firefighters arrived. The fire was under control within an hour, but the home is considered a total loss. Two firefighters were evaluated at the hospital and were later released.
Monday, just after 8:30 a.m.
Firefighters were called to Northside Boulevard and South 31st Street for a large debris fire behind a home. The fire extended to an outbuilding and caused damage to both neighboring homes. Crews had the fire under control within 30 minutes.
