A woman involved in a fatal crash in Concord Township has been sentenced in Elkhart County Circuit Court.

Deputies say the crash happened in November of 2024 when 29-year-old Krystal Gunter of Elkhart failed to yield while turning left from C.R. 17 onto Indiana 120.

Her Chevrolet Trax collided head-on with a northbound Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 61-year-old Joseph Klein of Wakarusa. Klein was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with internal injuries and later died.

The Goshen News says Gunter pleaded guilty to causing death while operating a vehicle with a Schedule I or II substance in her system.

She was sentenced to seven years, with two suspended to probation.
