The Southwest Michigan Regional Airport Authority Board has named Christopher Beckman as the new Airport Director.

Beckman brings more than 10 years of military and civilian aviation management experience, including service in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard.

He has overseen runway renovations, managed budgets, and coordinated airfield projects with pilots, air traffic controllers, and contractors. He says he’s excited about the airport’s future and hopes to lead through listening and collaboration.

The airport also plans to strengthen its connection with the community by involving local residents, businesses, and organizations in its mission.
