Police charged a Mishawaka couple after they say they stole two show cats at an Ohio cat show.

Michael Minix, 62, and Cathy Minix, 58, booked into the Elkhart County Jail over the weekend, face robbery, theft, and assault charges.

Investigators said the couple drove to a cat show near Cleveland on October 4 and took two cats valued at about $10,000. Ohio State Patrol stopped their car, and the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office recovered the cats.

The show’s manager said police returned the animals to the owners who showed proof of purchase, noting the incident appears tied to a breeder dispute.
