A 31-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday morning to the murder of his 6-year-old son.

Franklin Elmore and his wife, Cheyanne, were both charged with one count of felony murder. Emergency crews were called to the family’s Baugo Township home on August 3, where the child was found unconscious but breathing.

Investigators later discovered dozens of photos and videos showing the boy’s abuse on the parents’ phones.

Authorities say the injuries were not self-inflicted, and messages between the couple detailed the abuse and Cheyenne’s failure to protect her son. Elmore’s sentencing is scheduled for November 25.
