A Goshen man was arrested after police say he threatened to burn down Goshen Hospital and attempted to start a fire inside the facility.
According to the Goshen Police Department, officers were called to the hospital around 10:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, after reports of a man making threats and causing a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Jeremiah Valencourt, of the 1400 block of South Main Street, outside the hospital yelling about the hospital refusing to perform certain tests.
Security video reportedly showed Valencourt damaging a wall and carpet in an apparent attempt to start a fire.
Valencourt was taken into custody and booked into the Elkhart County Jail on preliminary charges of arson, intimidation, and criminal mischief.
