Woman sentenced for string of Elkhart burglaries

A woman accused in a string of Elkhart burglaries has been sentenced in Elkhart County Circuit Court.

37-year-old Toni Allen was arrested along with 40-year-old Jonathan Nehring after police responded to a February break-in at CTS on West Beardsley Avenue.

Officers spotted the pair running near the scene and later found stolen items, including copper pipes and tools, inside the building.

Allen was sentenced to five years for burglary, with three years suspended on probation. A misdemeanor marijuana charge was dismissed.

The Goshen News says she’ll first be transported to Michigan to resolve other cases before serving her time in Indiana.
