Bird flu detected at Elkhart County commercial breeder

The bird flu virus has been detected at a commercial breeder duck facility in Elkhart County, affecting 3,078 birds.
This is the tenth case of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Indiana since October 9, with seven cases impacting duck production.
The affected company and facility location have not been disclosed by state health officials.
In 2025, there have been a total of 32 HPAI cases in major commercial poultry facilities in Indiana.
