One of three men accused in a 2024 burglary of an abandoned Elkhart building has been sentenced.

45-year-old Timothy Gibson received a three-year sentence for Level 5 felony burglary.

Two years were suspended to probation, and the remaining year will be served through community corrections. Police say Gibson, along with Timothy S. Warren and Samuel L. LaFollette, broke into a vacant building on West Mishawaka Road after an AEP worker reported suspicious noises inside. Officers later found $3,000 worth of copper and other stolen items.

The Goshen News says LaFollette’s case was dismissed, and Warren’s jury trial is now set for February 16.
