Shooting leaves one dead, one injured in Elkhart County

he Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Friday morning in the 29000 block of County Road 16.
Deputies were called to the scene around 8 a.m. on Nov. 14, 2025. When they arrived, they found one person dead and another suffering from serious injuries. The wounded individual was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Authorities say the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Questions regarding the case are being referred to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.
