Congresswoman Erin Houchin has announced a major step toward protecting children online, as three of her bipartisan bills advanced out of a key subcommittee.
The bills-the AWARE Act, the SAFEBOTs Act, and the Parents Over Platforms Act-focus on protecting minors from AI chatbot risks, requiring clearer digital disclosures, and closing loopholes that allow children to bypass platform age limits.
Houchin says the legislation aims to give parents stronger tools and hold tech companies accountable for child safety.
