A Marshall County man is facing charges after a child abuse investigation.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department says they were alerted by the Department of Child Services to an injury considered unusual and suspicious. Investigators say a three-year-old child suffered a facial injury.

33-year-old Kevin Corona of Plymouth was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail.

According to court documents, Corona told police he had been drinking and became frustrated when the child soiled a diaper and would not cooperate.

Documents state he admitted striking the child in the face, causing the injury.

Corona is charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily harm and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
