A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for dealing methamphetamine following a traffic stop in Elkhart County.
Bruce Davis was arrested May 2 after an officer stopped his vehicle for suspicious driving near C.R. 29 and U.S. 6.
Police say Davis appeared nervous and admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license. A K-9 unit was deployed and alerted to the vehicle, where officers found more than 900 grams of meth inside a Walmart bag.
Davis told police he was offered drugs as payment for driving from Indianapolis.
The Goshen News says during sentencing, he said he wants to change his life.
The judge sentenced Davis to 13 years, with seven years in prison, followed by community corrections and probation.
