Martin University’s board of trustees announced in a letter that the college is permanently closing its doors after giving up its accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission.
The university cited financial problems and low enrollment as reasons for the closure.
The closure comes after a tumultuous month that included a temporary pause in operations, termination of staff, and calls for board chair Joseph Perkins to resign.
