Lawmakers push for lawmakers to combat doxing

(95.3 MNC)
Indiana lawmakers are pushing for legislation to combat doxing, the public release of personal information without consent, following threats against lawmakers during a redistricting campaign.
Senate Bill 140 would make doxing a misdemeanor or felony depending on the severity of the consequences. Lawmakers faced threats, including swatting attempts and bomb threats, during the redistricting process.
The bill aims to criminalize posting personal information as a threat in retaliation for legal actions.
