Cass county crash sends three to hospital after vehicle strikes home

Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash that sent one car into a nearby home, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the intersection of Daily Road and M-60 around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9.

Investigators say a 65-year-old woman from Cassopolis was traveling westbound on M-60 in a Toyota Highlander when her vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a Jeep Renegade driven by a 53-year-old woman from Elkhart.

Deputies report the SUV pulled into the intersection from Daily Road after stopping at a stop sign and failed to yield the right-of-way. The collision forced the westbound vehicle off the roadway and into a nearby house.

The 65-year-old driver, a 66-year-old male passenger from Cassopolis, and a 13-year-old passenger from Cassopolis were transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

The four occupants of the second vehicle reported no apparent injuries.
