The 15-0 Indiana Hoosiers are heading to the title game after a 56-to-22 blowout win over the Oregon Ducks in the Peach Bowl Friday night.

IU Head Football Coach Curt Cignetti says the team took those low expectations personally and used them as motivation to prove everyone wrong.

“I think a lot of that negative stuff in the media fueled the guys returning from this team,” he said. “We added some real key pieces. Great leaders, great players, and we just built off our successes.”

Under the leadership of Heisman winner and Peach Bowl MVP Fernando Mendoza, Indiana dominated on both offense and defense to prove they are legitimate title contenders.

The Hoosiers seized control immediately, starting the game with a defensive highlight when All-American D’Angelo Ponds picked off Dante Moore’s opening pass for a touchdown.

Indiana faces Miami at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida on January 19th for the College Football Playoff National Championship. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
