The Shipshewana Town Marshal has turned himself in following the conclusion of a months-long investigation into an alleged domestic battery incident.
According to the Indiana State Police, the agency was contacted in May 2025 regarding allegations involving Town Marshal Juan Carlos Jasso. State Police completed their investigation and forwarded the findings to the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s Office. Due to Jasso’s employment as a law enforcement officer in LaGrange County, the case was reassigned to a special prosecutor for review.
Following that review, a warrant was issued on a felony intimidation charge. Jasso, 49, of Shipshewana, surrendered at the LaGrange County Jail on Monday.
The case remains under review.
